in santa rosa and 29 also in the napa valley. the good news is by the afternoon i think today the beginning of temperatures running up in the 60s in many spots. about 61 in san jose. 60 in morgan hill. about 60 degrees and sunny in sunnyvale. as you make your way to the east bay maybe not quite as warm but not bad. 57 degrees in pleasanton. 57 in livermore. and about 56 degrees in concord. inside the bay we'll find some sunshine too and temperatures as high as 60 degrees in oakland. 57 in san francisco. a little bit of a sea breeze in toward the afternoon. but the weather looks like it's going to get nicer over the next few days. high pressure building in and it's a very strong ridge so likely going to see some mid- 60s some places maybe even warmer than that through friday and saturday staying nice and dry right through the weekend. in fact, no rain for the next five to zen days but elizabeth, that may all change next week. >> no. >> yes! i think by the end of next week we start to talk about rain again. >> i remember last year too just

right now. we just drop to below freezing in santa rosa. it is 31 degrees and fairfield. it is a another chilly start and i will have more about the wet weather coming up to my next report. >> we are following a developing story out of oakland where right now police are still searching for two men who they say shot an undercover police officer. this happened just after 6:00 last night on the 1700 block of seminary ave. this is video from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. so far they have managed to detain one person possibly who is connected to the shooting. officer was shot suffered " non " life- threatening injuries. >> it is 12 hours after the shooting and officers are still here. they are collecting evidence and they're not necessarily going door-to-door but reportedly one of the suspects dropped their gun and all three of them fled the same. we do know what this point that there is this what bioko out here and they will be here for quite a while. they are not tell me how much longer that will continue to be here. a lot of people in this neighborhood are frustrated because

freezing again. no freeze warnings in effect but cold again. livermore, fairfield napa, santa rosa before freezing. san francisco mieder, 44. fremont, 36, vallejo 35, so baby steps back to normal temperatures buzz been chilly. san jose 34 and livermore an average low over the past seven days of 30 degrees. radar is clear with that big dome of high pressure over top of us. we're going to stay clear on cbs 5 high deaf doppler for awhile, and this is a huge ridge of high pressure about a thousand miles offshore not coming down until you get to eastern montana and north dakota. that's a big ridge and going to be centered -- this is key it's going to be centered right over top of us over the next couple of days. that means slowly the atmosphere will continue to warm. some of you will hit 60 degrees tomorrow. most of us will get there on thursday. once we get there the temperatures aren't going to move much. we will be above normal for much of the next week once we get there tomorrow. the amps will get milder and will be somewhere close to 60 degrees just about every day for the next week so to

we're at 30 in santa rosa and below freezing and napa up. a chilly start for some of us but not as cold as yesterday. yesterday we saw upper 20s and that is not the case this morning. into the afternoon sunshine and this could be the last nice day for quite some time. this season the south bay los gatos 66 degrees 65 degrees in campbell. east bay would not provide as much or as the south bay. fairfield concord pittsburg keeping it in the upper 50s. 61 for downtown san francisco's 62 for berkeley. satellite and radar picture shows high pressure will continue to break down. we will see an increase in cloud cover and clouds you see right now will starts to thicken up throughout the course of today. a storm system is headed our way. expect light rain tomorrow beginning for your early morning commute especially in the upper north bay. 7 day around the bay forecast shows a return as sunshine by thursday and friday we are talking partly cloudy skies. rain chances continue into saturday and sunday. >> this team that we are going to play is a great football team. they are extreme
